Introducing… Silver Columns!

Mysterious dance titans prepare album

Mysterious dance newcomers Silver Columns have confirmed details of their new album ‘YES AND DANCE’.

Strange new sounds crept out last year, with a series of white labels naming Silver Columns are the artist. Little was known about the reclusive duo, though a few of the vocal parts sounded somewhat familiar.

Revealing their identities earlier this year, Silver Columns are comprised of The Pictish Trail and Adem – two folk driven songwriters, more adept with the acoustic guitar than the sampler.

However the pair have indulged their love of the dancefloor, with cuts such as ‘Brow Beaten’ gaining acclaimed from the electro house heartland. Set to appear on the forthcoming Kitsune Maison compilation, Silver Columns have now confirmed details of their debut album.

Snapped up by Moshi Moshi, Silver Column’s debut album ‘YES AND DANCE’ is a catchy slice of electro pop. Conceived, produced and recorded in less than a year the album overcame geography and a hectic tour schedule.

Uniting two mavericks, Silver Columns is possibly the most daring move either party have made. Of course, The Pictish Trail has always had an electronic element in his music while Adem once covered Aphex Twin.

Forthcoming single ‘Cavalier’ is due for release on April 19th, a bubbling disco pop classic with call and response vocals.

Silver Columns recently made their live debut at the Homegame festival, organised by The Pictish Trail himself. For the rest of the world, however, the duo will perform at Ginlik in London on April 17th.

Silver Columns are due to release ‘YES AND DANCE’ on May 24th. Tracklisting is as follows:

1. Cavalier
2. To Wake You
3. Yes and Dance
4. Always On
5. Brow Beaten
6. Columns
7. Warm Welcome
8. Is It Still You
