Former member of Simian Mobile Disco and The Black Ghosts, Simon Lord aka Lord Skywave is set to release his intriguing self-titled album on June 9th.
Utilizing a vintage Skywave synth (one of only ten in existence, fact fans) Lord Skywave blends dubstep, electro and a huge array of samples to produce something quite unique. For his debut album Lord Skywave has utilized recordings of his late grandmother – a fine musician in her own right.
The album mixes cutting edge technology with vintage synth sounds and the crackle of vintage 78s. Moving from abrasive electronica to the sweet, soulful sounds of tracks such as “Idyll”. A true maverick, who has already created more pop than you can shake a stick at Lord Skywave is an artist to keep an eye on.
