Introducing: Flying Vinyl

A new project for music fans...

With vinyl sales seeing a surprising comeback in recent years a new UK company called Flying Vinyl is looking to bring new music to the masses on the format. Every month, Flying Vinyl members get a box of 5 carefully curated, exclusively pressed 7" vinyl records from the best new musical talent for £20 per month with free UK delivery.

The boxes include a magazine with details about the artists included, along with extra merchandise, which has previously included lyric sheets and 7" art prints. There's been an emphasis on creating quality records with full artwork, spined sleeves and a careful curating process.

"Over the last ten years music's been made into a cheap or free commodity that is quickly dis-guarded" said Founder Craig Evans, "Vinyl's the antidote to that and the re-emergence of the format is being driven by younger people who want a deeper connection with music than streaming or digital downloads can offer."

"So we think this is the ultimate way to introduce people to new music and give them a listening experience that digital music simply can't fulfil."

The company is working alongside a number of indie labels but accepts submissions from independent artists also. So far, they've included artists such as Eaves, who's just returned from supporting Mumford & Sons on tour, Johnny Marr-endorsed Kagoule, Meadowlark fresh from the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury and have records coming up from the likes of Kid Wave and Theo Verney.
