Taking a short break to focus on solo material and projects outwith music, Interpol made their graceful live return earlier this year.
Headlining the NME Awards tour, the band dropped in a few new tracks. Revealing that sessions for their new album were almost at an end, Interpol gave fans a few hints as to what they can expect.
Now the details are beginning to become clearer. Interpol's new album – the band's first in four years – will be named 'El Pintor' and drops on September 9th.
A statement from the group: "It’s been a long time coming but we’re finally ready to share some new album news. We’d like to announce the release of our upcoming new album, El Pintor. We wrote & recorded the bulk of the album in 2013 in NYC and finished mixing it in London during the early part of this year. We’re very excited to share the album with all of you. The album was recorded at Electric Lady Studios & Atomic Sound by Mr James Brown and mixed by Mr Alan Moulder at Assault & Battery studios. We had a lot of fun making this record and can’t wait for you to."
