In Flagranti Get Frisky On New Cut ‘Sprezzatura’

A homage to the Swiss duo's roots...

The roots of Swiss duo In Flagranti run deep.

So deep, in fact, the pair came of age in an era without the internet – when crate-digging meant literally that.

Sasa Crnobrnja explains: “Back in the early 80s when I lived in Switzerland, I use to travel to Italy a lot for clubs and record shopping. In Rimini there was a great store called Disco Piu. They had this service where if you were out of town or from another country, you could sign-up and get a cassette of all the new releases in the post every week.”

“Each new track was recorded for about a minute and there was a voice counting – so you could write down the tracks you liked – then phone or fax the track numbers and the date of the cassette, they’d send you the records and you’d pay on delivery, which was amazing”.

As a salute to their origins, In Flagranti have crafted 'Sprezzatura' – a mixtape cassette containing material that exposes their electronic roots.

So you can expect post-disco, proto-house, early Balearic and a lot more besides, all delivered in a hugely inventive, incredibly creative manner.

Out now, fans are able to soak up the mixtape and then purchase their favourite tracks individually online.

Clash is able to premiere the visuals for 'Spezzatura', and it's a bewitching, engaging, stimulating offering.
