IMS Ibiza has launched its programme for this year’s summit, celebrating the breadth and depth of global dance music.
This year marks the event’s fifteenth edition, taking place across three days of workshops, talks and parties that are set to kick off on April 26th. With a focus to ‘Rebuild Our Community’, the programme will host over 60 sessions and 125 speakers at Carrer de Sa Talaia, presented by BBC Radio 1 trailblazers Pete Tong MBE and Jaguar. The platform will also unveil the latest findings behind its annual IMS Business Report, evaluating the current state of the industry to encourage change and future progress.
Founded in 2007 by industry professionals including Ben Turner, Danny Whittle and Simeon Friend, IMS Ibiza seeks to showcase the overlapping strengths of culture, education, wellness, technology, environment and health across dancefloors. Sharing a number of forward-thinking partnerships, the summit highlights keynote addresses with AlphaTheta & One Through Music, Tomorrowland’s Michiel Beers, the general manager of EMEA Mark Grotefeld and more. The programme also prides conversations between contemporary afrobeats icon Sarz and Abantu founder Charisse C, Fatboy Slim and the forces behind Southern Fried Records, Ninja Tune’s very own Matt Black and Defected Records pioneer and founder Simon Dunmore.
In addition, Ballantine’s True Music will celebrate its tenth anniversary through the infectious pulses of South African Dance Music and Amapiano, illustrating the genre’s journey from the township to worldwide stages. Elsewhere, HE.SHE.THEY will be taking over The Brave Space alongside Downtown & FUGA, spotlighting their broad curation with a series of RA Exchange podcasts with the likes of Smokin’Jo, DJ Pierre and Juan Atkins
Drawing to a close with the IMS Dalt Vila seven-hour closing celebration held in the old town of Ibiza, the party will showcase the rich history of the island and its unique connection to music communities and sun-kissed escapism.
Speaking on the launch of this year’s summit programme, IMS co-founder Ben Turner shares “These are strained and complicated times in electronic music – not a landscape this industry has had to navigate before. Now in our 15th edition, the key theme of trying to understand how to Rebuild Our Community is designed to be constructive, positive and impactful. Special thanks to the team of IMS advisors and experts for their input to this year’s program. We hope those in attendance will find something insightful and inspirational to take home with them along with new connections, new music and positive thoughts and actions for the future.”
