Iglu & Hartly have shared their long-anticipated comeback record ‘Swayze’.
A fun and bold offering from the Colorado band, ‘Swayze’ centres itself around the pursuit of eternal youth and chaotic romance.Sporting big drums, dynamic acoustics and an anthemic hook, the track is influenced by the vibrant thrill of 80s cinema. From start to finish, band frontman Jarvis Anderson infuses his verses with an electric energy, dedicating the track to Dirty Dancing icon Patrick Swayze.
Following a 15 year hiatus, Iglu & Hartly are stepping into the limelight once more, recently embarking on an exclusive 3-date UK tour. Much has changed since their 2009 smash hit ‘In This City’, a breakthrough moment that catapulted the band into mainstream success. Yet, across the past few years the outfit have made a shift in their approach, moving away from pressures of the industry and further towards creative autonomy.
Indeed, the current times welcome a new chapter for Igloo & Hartly, one that ‘Swayze’ perfectly soundtracks.
Speaking on the track, Jarvis details: “while writing this song I imagined a femme fatale whose wild spirit could only be matched by a man like one of Swayze’s iconic characters.”
Tune in now.
