Lincolnshire synth pop duo I Was A Cub Scout have announced that they have split up.
Based around songwriter Todd Marriott, the band won acclaim for this year’s debut album “I Want You To Know That There Is Always Hope”. Their line up was completed by drummer William Bowerman, as the band began by playing a series of house parties and guerilla gigs. An always popular live band, the group toured extensively during 2007, and the band are intent on honouring their live commitments.
I Was A Cub Scout are set to play their last ever gig at the London Koko venue on July 14th, as part of the iTunes festival. In an emotional statement the band had the following to say:
“Hello friends, here goes. Tonight (June 5) we have decided that I Was A Cub Scout has and must now come to a close. We have had countless problems over the past year or so and with yet more occurring we it best to end on what would seem like a decent note.”
