House Legend Romanthony Passes Away – Reports

Daft Punk collaborator dies

House legend and Daft Punk collaborator Romanthony has passed away.

Blessed with a soulful voice alongside a keen awareness for the next trend, Romanthony first began making waves in the early 90s. Heralded by New York's bustling house scene, the producer (real name Anthony Moore') has a style which was glamorous yet experimental.

Running his own Black Male Records imprint, Romanthony built up a cult following which included some of the finest names in electronic music. Perhaps best known as the vocalist on Daft Punk's sublime single 'One More Time' the producer had – in recent years – worked with Teengirl Fantasy and Boys Noize.

News of Romanthony's passing broke via social media, with the producer's sister Mellony Moore confirming details on Facebook. Cause of death has yet to be confirmed, although the house legend is believed to have passed away on May 7th.

Boys Noize immediately expressed his sorrow: "it is so sad… Romanthony and me were working on such an amzing song together. he said it was the best song he had ever written."

Daone Remmidy (Eve Angel) offered a personal tribute to the vocalist, producer and label owner. "I am deeply saddened to Announce the Passing our my Label Owner, Producer, Manager, and Family. Our Beloved World Renowned DJ and Producer Romanthony has passed away. What a great run we had Roman gave me my first break into the Music Industry and introduced me to the world, as Eve Angel. We were working on an amazing project. I will miss him and he will forever remain in my heart. We had a 20 year stint together and he will never be forgotten."

Here's house classic 'In The Mix'.
