HotWax will release new EP ‘Invite Me, Kindly’ on October 18th.
The band’s scorching debut EP ‘A Thousand Times’ was released earlier this year, sparking a wave of hype. One of the real standouts from The Great Escape, HotWax then completed a summer of festival commitments.
New EP ‘Invite Me, Kindly’ will be released on October 18th via Marathon Artists. Set to be available digitally, both EPs will be coupled together for a limited physical release – on orange/white splatter vinyl and orange cassette.
“Writing this EP felt really good, it all came together really quickly and the majority of the songs just fell into place,” explains singer Tallulah; “I felt I had lots of phrases saved up in my head that I couldn’t wait to put into my lyrics. The EP looks at themes of acceptance to people who have hurt you before, letting your doubts leave you and feeling free.”
“Playing these songs live this summer has been so refreshing, I still feel so passionately about a lot of the lyrics, which makes it feel very therapeutic to perform. Working with Alan Moulder on recording the EP was amazing, he was so open to our ideas and really helped our vision come to life.”
New single ‘Phone Machine’ is out now, a red-hot piece of alt-leaning indie rock. Erupting out of the speakers, the Alan Moulder mix places the needle firmly in the red, echoing the savage energy of their live shows.
To celebrate the EP, HotWax will play a hometown headline show at new Brighton venue DUST on October 18th.
Tune in now.
