Hotel Lux have shared new single ‘The Carvery’ – their acerbic take on a Christmas smash.
The band are aiming for a festive hit, blending Advent themes with their own deeply left-field post-punk churn. Seemingly crafted in a day during a studio stint, new single ‘The Carvery’ taps into the frustrations, and the often unpleasant atmosphere of a tense festive season.
A riot from start to finish, ‘The Carvery’ is less a well-sharpened knife but more a bludgeon – it’s like watching your dad smash the turkey to pieces with a hammer.
Backed by some lo-fi visuals, ‘The Carvery’ is a kind of alternative Christmas smash, where the Brussel sprouts end up embedded in the living room wall.
