Peas in a pod. For the latest track in their collaborative series Converse had thrown Hot Chip, Bernard Sumner and Hot City into a room, with the results set to be made available as a download later today (October 6th).

The resulting track is called ‘I Didn’t Know What Love Was’ which will available to stream or download from the Converse blog later today.

A typically fey slice of dance-pop, it marks the first new material Hot Chip have released since the success of ‘One Life Stand’. A varied return from the band, the title track was released as a jaunty summer single.

Disco pop with a dark edge, Hot Chip surely own one or two New Order records. Bernard Sumner will step away from Bad Lieutenant to add his vocals, while Hot City will assist in production and songwriting.

The track is the third in a series of collaborations organised by Converse. This summer saw the release of a track featuring members of Vampire Weekend and Best Coast working with Kid Cudi.

Available to download now, ‘All Summer’ caught three musicians on the rise. ‘I Didn’t Know What Love Was’ is available shortly, with the series set to continue in January with a contribution from Graham Coxon, Paloma Faith and one time Coral guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones.

The track is being kept under cover, with the trio putting the finishing touches before a release in the New Year.
