Hot Chip New Material

Band Debut New Songs

Electro geek chic wonders Hot Chip have stunned fans by unveiling two new songs in a concert at Brixton Academy on November 7th.

The band released their last album ‘Made In The Dark’ earlier this year, and are reportedly working on new material. The group played a late night show at Brixton Academy in London, arriving onstage at 11.40pm. Always keen to emphasize the visual element of the performance, the band wore costumes with singer Alexis Taylor wearing a brightly covered robe which he then removed to reveal some white overalls.

Clash Magazine’s first cover stars of 2008 were on fine form throughout, playing a set that drew on ‘Made In The Dark’ as well as earlier material. Amongst the newer tracks was ‘Alley Cats’, another electro epic scheduled to appear on the new album.

As is now Hot Chip tradition, the band finished with a heartfelt version of the Prince / Sinead O’ Connor classic ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’.

Hot Chip played:

One Pure Thought
Bendable Poseable
Boy From School
Hold On
Touch Too Much
Over And Over

Out At The Pictures

Playboy
