BBC host Bruce Parry has rounded up an all-star cast of musicians to appear on a new album designed to raise money for Survival International – a human rights organization for tribal people.
The host of “Amazon / Tribe”, Parry spends time with indigenous tribal people, learning their ways and all important tribal skills. He obviously cares a lot about the people he visits, and of course their rights which are frequently trampled upon.
The new album “Amazon / Tribe: Songs For Survival” features tracks from electro group Hot Chip,Muike Oldfield, our friend Jeremy Warmsley, Mystery Jets, Johnny Borrell and many more.
Many of the tracks are unique experiments between Western pop and tribal music – for example the Go! Team will appear alongside the Babongo Tribe while Roger Sanchez collaborates with the Adi Tribe.
A unique and worthy project, “Amazon / Tribe: Songs For Survival” is already available as a digital download, while Kensaltown Records will release it as a two-disc CD on October 6th.
