It discusses mental health...

London vocalist Hope Tala has shared potent new song ‘Magic Or Medicine’.

The singer took a step back to find focus, with sessions for her eagerly-awaited debut album stretching out over a potent period of her life.

Out on February 28th, her LP ‘Hope Handwritten’ is layered in personal truths. Take new song ‘Magic Or Medicine’ – the final piece of the puzzle, the root of the song is her own experiences with mental health.

A song about going through it, ‘Magic Or Medicine’ also leaves space for recovery – it’s billed as “an honest conversation”, with Hope Tala yearning to look towards the light.

She comments…

‘‘Magic or Medicine’ was the final puzzle piece of ‘Hope Handwritten’ – the last song I wrote for the album. This song is essentially an honest conversation I’m having with myself about the poor mental health I experienced during the years in which I made the album. Although it’s about struggle, like most of the songs on the record it’s informed by hope.”
