Hope Tala will release her debut album ‘Hope Handwritten’ on February 28th.
The songwriter has a beautiful sound, melting together pop, R&B, and countless other influences into multi-flavoured brew. Live, she’s enchanting – catch her tonight (October 17th) in London’s O2 Academy Islington, in fact.
Closing off her Mini Tour with a London date, the occasion will be rendered extra special – yep, Hope Tala has just confirmed plans for her debut album.
It’s titled ‘Hope Handwritten’, and it will be released on February 28th via PMR.
Alongside this, she’s just shared new single ‘Jumping The Gun’ – all told, it’s the fifth release from her album, which will also find room for recent singles ‘I Can’t Even Cry’, ‘Bad Love God’, ‘Thank Goodness’, and most recently ‘Shiver’.
A real pearl, ‘Jumping The Gun’ finds Hope Tala getting her emotions down on tape. A bold talent, she’s also unafraid to experiment – listen out for the unusual percussive tick on this track.
She comments…
“It’s a funny coincidence that one of the percussion elements in this song is a clicking pen. I didn’t realise the link between this and the album title – Hope Handwritten – for some time. ‘Jumping the Gun’ is one of the first songs I wrote for the album and is one of only two that made it from the very first draft I wrote in 2021 onto the final track list – I never once considered letting it go.”
Tune in now.
