HONNE Announce New Album ‘OUCH’

And share a sweetly nostalgic new single...

UK art-pop pairing HONNE will return later this year with new album ‘OUCH’.

The group are now operating independently, embracing maturity in the process. The duo – Andy Clutterbuck and James Hatcher – are operating out of a new studio space in Deptford, allowing its sense of communal creativity to permeate their work.

New album ‘OUCH’ is about commitment, fatherhood, the fear of loss, and the power love holds in our lives, all while affording HONNE space to experiment.

‘OUCH’ will be released on September 6th, and new single ‘Girl In The Orchestra’ leads the way. There’s a cute sense of naivety to the song, which sketches a tale of youthful love in an adolescent music group.

The band have overlaid different instruments to mimic the orchestra of the title, and there’s a clear sense of music-as-play here, with HONNE truly having fun.

“When I was younger, I joined my school orchestra cause a girl I liked played the flute. I didn’t even read music at the time so was quite out of my depth. School crushes were always a little hard to navigate and could end up being quite painful. ‘Girl In The Orchestra’ tells this story”, Andy explains.

The animated video was spearheaded by Jenny Jokela, it’s hand-drawn, DIY qualities emphasising HONNE’s independence while also matching the themes of the song.

The film-maker and visual artist shares: “’Girl in the Orchestra’ is a hand painted animation, using acrylic paint on paper. I feel the painted technique and look matches and adds texture to the warm and funny tone of the love story that is central to the video.”

Tune in now.
