Holly Walker has laid out plans for new album ‘Unsung’.
The vocalist is a hidden heroine of British electronic music, known primarily for her collaboration with Maribou State. Perfecting her solo work, Holly Walker recently emerged from the shadows, sharing a string of excellent synth burners.
Exquisite pop delivered with icy finesse, her debut album ‘Unsung’ allows Holly a broader palette to work with. Constructed largely at her home, it was pieced together by close friend, collaborator, and Mercury nominated artist Jamie Woon.
“The songs are written to people I know, about things I’ve wanted to say for a long time, but couldn’t find the words.”, explains Holly. “They finally burst out of me. I wrote them mostly at home, on keys, in an old-fashioned way. I wanted storytelling, to try and make something timeless, with live musicians at the heart of it. Have that religious experience.”
“I made the record with Jamie Woon, whose magical thinking was the help I’d always needed. Plus holy trinity Dan See, Dave Okumu and Lexxx, who made everything sound excellent.”
Out on November 10th, it’s led by all-new single ‘One Of Them’ – crystalline and pure, it seems to radiate light.
