Holly Macve Aims For Contentment With ‘1995’

Holly Macve shares a moment of calm on new single ‘1995’.

The songwriter’s new EP ‘Time Is Forever’ lands on February 2nd, a document of enchanting alt-pop. A flurry of previews have been unveiled, building on the waves caused by breakout song ‘Suburban House’.

New single ‘1995’ leans in to the sonic tapestries of these early moment, while also adding layers of maturity. The initial session acted as a decompressing era for Holly Macve, who needed to let off steam post-tour.

Emerging from this, ‘1995’ seeks out fresh roots, embodying a longing for contentment. Crisp and assured, Holly labels is “the most hopeful song I’ve ever written…”

The songwriter adds…

“‘Time is Forever’ is the start of a new era for me. During the making of it I spent a lot of days and nights alone in strange cigarette stained motels, dreaming big and overcoming certain inhibitions. I put a lot of my soul into these tunes and I’m super excited to share them and play them live.”
