Hohnen Ford Shares Touching Single ‘I Wish I Had A God’

The title track of her incoming EP...

Hohnen Ford has shared new single ‘I Wish I Had A God’ in full.

The songwriter is based in North London, and there’s already a buzz around her highly emotive take on pop. Snapped up by tastemaker talent hub Young Poet, Hohnen’s new EP ‘I Wish I Had A God’ is out on August 3rd.

A nimble five-tracker, the EP is led by a brand new single, and it’s the title track of the project as a whole. A gorgeous torch song, the plain-spoken feelings behind ‘I Wish I Had A God’ reside in a period of grief, with Hohnen Ford attempting to make sense of this.

Using music as a lens to bring her thoughts to coherence, ‘I Wish I Had A God’ transforms painful thoughts into aspects of beauty. She comments…

‘I Wish I Had A God’ emerged from the depths of grief, as an attempt to make sense of losing one of my best friends last year. Songwriting can be a vessel for grappling with the ineffable. This is the most painful song I’ve ever written, and has also been a bittersweet gift to watch it resonate with so many as I’ve performed it live over the last year. Our shared human experience of grief teaches us so much.

Tune in now.
