Montreal partnership Hildegard have laid out plans for new album ‘Jour 1596’.
The duo – Helena Deland and Ouri – were drawn together by the Canadian city’s close knit music scene, and discovered almost instant creative chemistry.
The pair’s excellent debut album landed in 2021, and CLASH probed Hildegard about their future plans. “We’re still very much tangled up in one another,” Helena said. “It’s interesting how close it’s made us. We’re kind of inter-sociable now… for the best!”
New album ‘Jour 1596’ represents their next step, and it lands on October 18th. Available to order now, the LP is trailed by excellent new song ‘Cruel’, which represents the push and pull of their studio dialogue.
Ouri and Helena Deland call it “[a] dialogue between lovers or friends, where one seeks stability while the other is drawn towards disruption and change.”
