Hotly tipped London trio Golden Silvers released their debut album ‘True Romance’ yesterday (April 28th) and you can listen to it now!
Golden Silvers were formed by a group of friends, who were already familiar faces on the London indie scene. Struggling for gigs to play on a monochrome indie circuit, the band took to organising their own clubnights.
Labelled The Bronze Club, the night has become a cult hangout in the capital attracting special performances from the likes of Florence And The Machine, Miachu and many more. Soon the band were winning plaudits, and were picked as the winner’s of a competition to play Glastonbury.
They swiftly won at least one admirer, with Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis travelling to another event specifically to watch the band. Sadly for him, though, Golden Silvers had already cancelled.
However the band are much more ambitious and quickly signed to hip indie label Young And Lost Club. Releasing ‘Arrows Of Eros’ the band’s sparkling mixture of electro pop and psychedelia caught the attention of XL Recordings who quickly snapped up the band.
Hidden away in London, Golden Silvers began piecing together their debut album with the help of Lexxx – whose CV includes work with chip tunes terrorists Crystal Castles and many more.
The group released their new single ‘True No.9 Blues (True Romance)’ last week. A stunning blast of summery pop energy, it bodes well for the new album.
