HEALTH plan 2009 return

LA noise merchants get colourful

Unquestionably one of the hippest acts to see their profile rise in 2008, Los Angeles’ HEALTH are preparing their second album for a 2009 release.

Something of a product of LA’s ‘Smell scene’, alongside No Age and Abe Vigoda, HEALTH’s self-titled debut earned a domestic release this year, and was received brilliantly well. Live shows were rammed, and reputation spread.

Soon, they were back in the racks again: ‘HEALTH//DISCO’ is, probably, the best remix record of the year, taking the band’s debut’s boisterous percussion and transforming noise tracks into dancefloor winners.

Jake from the band has provided fans with an update on progress in the HEALTH camp:

“The album is coming out late summer 2009 and it’s called ‘GET COLOR’.

“It’s being recorded by HEALTH on 2″ analogue tape in the heart of Los Angeles.

“The band will be in the UK and Europe in April touring around the release of the first single.”
