Hauskey’s ‘Somewhere’ Is A Lockdown Creation

Tune in now...

Australian riser Hauskey has shared his new single 'Somewhere'.

The songwriter's intriguing debut 'Slow' was given an international push a few weeks back, alerting Clash to his talents.

New song 'Somewhere' ably builds on this promise, while steering Hauskey's music in a gentle direction.

Crafted during lockdown while stating in Sydney, there's a feeling of easing his emotions into focus, providing a form of escape in the process.

Sharply melodic, there's a neat turn of phrase to Hauskey's lyricism that makes the song genuinely engrossing.

He explains: “I wrote 'Somewhere' during week three of lockdown in Sydney. It was such an escape for me, that once I finished the first demo, I sat there for hours and just looped it over and over. It’s as much about physically wanting to get away, as needing to get out of my own head and stop thinking about every single negative thing that 2020 has thrown at us.”

Hauskey adds: “It’s a short retreat, in a long year.”
