Halls Prepares Debut Album

'Ark' due on October 15th

Halls is preparing to release his debut album ‘Ark’ through No Pain In Pop on October 15th.

Real name Sam Howard, Halls has gradually been drawing attention via a series of subtle, often quite evocative recordings. A South London native, his fractured take on electronics will no doubt be compared to Burial but in reality there is a near classical sweep to his take on composition.

Hooking up with dependably brilliant London label No Pain In Pop, Halls is set to release new album ‘Ark’ on October 15th. There are no accompanying press quotes (another shy producer?) titles such as ‘Roses For The Dead’ and ‘Shadow Of The Colossus’ point to a Gothic atmosphere.

Something which is certainly delivered in the new trailer. ‘Ark’ is all brooding atmosphere and uncomfortable textures, building gradually in a manner which exists outwith (but not entirely divorced from) club culture.

Here’s a taster.
