Halle Bailey Shares Moving Solo Debut ‘Angel’

It's a new beginning...

Halle Bailey has made her solo debut with ‘Angel’.

The track is Halle Bailey’s inaugural solo release, and follows ChloexHalle’s – the duo she forms with her sister, Chloe – 2020 album ‘Ungodly Hour’. Since then, Halle has been focussed on her acting activities, taking the role of Ariel in the recent big budget take on The Little Mermaid.

Fuelling online speculation with some sizzling teasers, Halle Bailey has now shared her first solo single. Out now, ‘Angel’ is a gorgeous R&B ballad, making full use of her incredible voice with its subtle rises, and stunning falls.

An emotive piece of music,

This is Halle Bailey’s first solo release and follows Chloe x Halle’s acclaimed album ‘Ungodly Hour’ and her recent film ‘The Little Mermaid’ where she played Ariel.

“This song for me is so very special and near and dear to my heart,” says Halle. “With everything I’ve
gone through the past three to four years, suddenly finding myself in this bubble of all these eyes and new opinions, it was easy for me to feel doubt in myself and who I was.”

“This song for me was my climb out of those feelings, a mantra and promise to myself that the work I’m doing here on earth matters and that I matter. I wanted to be able to embrace and be proud of myself and who I am naturally through and through. I hope other Brown and Black girls and everyone in general feel embraced, respected, and inspired hearing the words of this song.”

Tune in now.
