HAIM Are Working With Jai Paul, Seemingly

“We may or may not have been in the studio with him...”

HAIM seem to be working with Jai Paul.

The band are back in town, with the sisters headlining All Points East in London. 6Music are working closely with the festival, and host Lauren Laverne was granted a quick interview with the three-piece.

Probed on new material, HAIM remained largely tight-lipped – but did reveal a potential collaborator.

Discussing a new album they said “hopefully” before revealing that “we’ve been working with some cool people”.

“We played Jai Paul earlier; we might’ve been in the studio with him” said the trio, before adding: “We may or may not have been in the studio with him”; and, “Cannot confirm or deny.”

Well, that’s very clear isn’t it?

HAIM are long-term fans of Jai Paul, and eagle-eyed Pitchfork types note that a quote from a Fader piece in 2013 indicates that they’ve been emailing for about a decade.

For his part, the reclusive London music isn’t so reclusive any more – he recently played some exultant live shows.
