Rivers Cuomo mounted a short-lived career as a football (well, “soccer”) player recently as he took part in a star-studded charity tournament in Carson, California.
Cuomo took part in the Mia Hamm and Nomar Garciaparra Celebrity Soccer Challenge, playing alongside a host of celebrities and US “soccer” legends such as Landon Donovan. Indeed, Rivers Cuomo may well have a future in the game after netting his side’s opening goal. Ultimately, though, the Weezer frontman couldn’t prevent his side being knocked out by the eventual winners.
Cuomo’s new album of demos, entitled “Alone – The Home Recordings Of Rivers Cuomo”, will be released on February 4th.
