Former Guns N Roses drummer Steve Adler has spoken out about the split of the original line up of the band.
An amalgamation of two of Sunset Strips most popular bands, Guns N Roses went on to become the biggest band on the planet. Their debut album ‘Appetite For Destruction’ mixed rock pyrotechnics with the savage passion of punk, and made the band world famous.
Labelled ‘the most dangerous group on the planet’ by some, Guns N Roses eventually splintered and faded into hiatus. The group roared back into action last year with the album ‘Chinese Democracy’, which featured only Axl Rose from the original line up.
Original drummer Steve Adler has been recalling the band’s glory days. “Oh, those were great days” he told Patriot News.
“It was a great time. It’s a shame that Axl put me through all that . . . he did. He likes to blame people, like everything’s Slash’s fault, that’s why we’re not going to do a reunion. What did Slash do? He didn’t do anything.”
Adler added that his memories of his days in Guns were “tarnished for a long time” but that he survived it and is “a better person and stronger person for it.”
In a recent interview Axl Rose claimed that any attempt to bring Adler back into the group would bring with it “assorted ambulance-chasing attorneys and the nightmare of his mother.”
