Releasing a number of increasingly odd side projects, Gruff Rhys roared back into the pop sphere with new album ‘Hotel Shampoo’. An irresistible collection of psych gems, the Welsh songwriter proved that he could pretty much toss out a three minute classic whenever he fancies…
Since then, Gruff Rhys has continued to keep his foot on the gas. The Welsh songwriter released the one off single ‘Whale Trail’ this summer, crafting a number of exclusive B-sides to spread across the various formats.
With the upcoming anti-festive EP ‘Athiest XMas’ set to be released in the run up to December 25th, Gruff Rhys has decided to expand ‘Hotel Shampoo’.
Set to be released on December 19th, the expanded edition of the album contains seven new tracks including the upcoming EP in its entirety. Tracklisting:

Obviously keen to keep himself occupied during Advent, Gruff Rhys has confirmed three in-store appearances on the day of the EP’s release. Celebrating ‘Athiest XMas’ with a trio of live performances, the singer will begin the jaunt in Cardiff.
Set to open the performances in Spillers Records at 12 noon, Gruff Rhys will then race down to Bristol for a set at Rise Records from 3pm. Ending in London, the Welsh artist is set to perform in Rough Trade East at 8pm.
All in-store performances are free entry.
