GROVE returns with new piledriver ‘BIG BOOTS’.
These are strange times to live through. The country is stumbling through a cost of living crisis, following a decade (and beyond) of austerity. Each day, more and more of us are making do with less and less.
Watching the coronation over the weekend, GROVE must have felt a little unsettled. A figure who blends club tropes with staggering aesthetic about-turns, their singular vision bursting with energy and vivacity.
Out now, ‘BIG BOOTS’ stomps down on the crooked morality of this coronation nation. It’s a singular statement, potent and timely, with GROVE commenting…
“We’re told that there’s no money for people & public services, but there is £100,000,000 for the coronation for a billionaire. The Royal family are a symbol of all kinds of supremacy – class supremacy, white supremacy, imperialism – and we need to decide how we want to be represented as a country now, and not have it be decided for us. We’re being pushed coronation biscuits & bunting in Tescos whilst deportations, housing and living situations become dire.”
Jasper Golding directs the video, which features GROVE rendered in 3D – his colossal boot crunching down on effigies of the royal family, before destroying Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.
Tune in now.
