BRITs Rising Star winner Griff ushers in a new era with new single ‘Vertigo.
In 2021, the multi-faceted artist released a lockdown mixtape ‘One Foot In Front of The Other’. The project became the first mixtape from a female artist to hit top 5 in the UK charts; an angst-ridden stadium pop venture, the mixtape explored the sticky sweet spot between insecurity and the mettle of a generation grappling more than ever with self-definition.
‘Vertigo’, a self-produced synth-pop stunner, sees Griff reckon with the dizzying experience of young love; her lyrics, as grounded and relatable as ever, are framed as self-talk and an invocation for anyone needing affirmation.
‘Vertigo’, Griff says, “refers to an emotional state – always feeling upside down. Experiencing love and growing up, it always feels like the world and my emotions are spinning faster than I can keep up with. ‘Vertigo’ is the beginning of a new creative chapter for me, and I’m excited for us all to go on this journey together.”
