As part of Spotify singles...

Griff has shared her take on Lorde's 'Solar Power'.

Fresh from the success of her debut mixtape 'One Foot In Front Of The Other' the newcomer has gone back into the studio for Spotify Singles.

Tackling a fresh version of her song 'One Night', Griff also added a brand new treat for fans.

Opting to cover Lorde's 'Solar Power', she taps into the core of the song while honouring a Pure Heroine - see what we did there? - at the same time.

Says Griff: “The recording process for Spotify Singles started with just me in my music room. I reproduced the Lorde song, changed up the chords, did new drums, just had fun playing around with it. We went in for a rehearsal day to make 'One Night' and 'Solar Power' come to life before heading to Rak Studios to record it.’

“It felt great to do a new version of my single 'One Night' and I choose to cover Lorde because she is such an inspiration - I’m just a day one fan. I’ve been waiting for her to come back for a long time so as soon as I heard Solar Power, and I loved it so much, I knew I wanted to cover it.’

“My favourite Spotify Single is either Bombay Bicycle Club’s ‘Lose You To Love Me’ or Maggie Rogers’ version of ‘Tim McGraw’: I think they’re amazing. I felt a lot of pressure because I really wanted mine to live up to that level. I hope they do, and I hope you enjoy listening to them as much we did making them for you.’’

Tune in now.
