Gretta Ray’s ‘America Forever’ Is A Slick Pop Collaboration

It also features Maisie Peters and Carol Ades...

Gretta Ray returns with new single ‘America Forever’.

The song is released on July 4th, a day when the United States celebrates its inception, and its independence. An ode to America, the new single allows Gretta Ray to discuss her own experiences, with America becoming a metaphor for personal freedom.

A pure pop ode, ‘America Forever’ is driven forwards by escapism, and it finds Gretta drawing other voices into her world. The Australian songwriter was joined in the studio by Carol Ades, and UK voice Maisie Peters – who just notched up her first ever UK No. 1 album.

Discussing the song, Gretta explains “when a certain place brings out the best version of yourself, it’s hard to leave it behind without feeling like you’re abandoning a piece of yourself. The more creatively liberated I am, the more I feel like me. I rocked up to a session with Carol, and complained to her about having to fly home to Australia. I just wanted to stay in America, forever. The two of us spent the day unpacking this further on the couch in her living room, just us and an acoustic guitar…”

A beautiful return, the song leads in to Gretta’s new album ‘Positive Spin’, which lands on August 18th.

Tune in now.
