Green Day Announce New Album ‘Saviors’

It's out in January...

American punk outfit Green Day have shared details of their new album ‘Saviors’.

The new album is the band’s first since the garage rock inspired 2020 effort ‘Father Of All Motherfuckers’. A return to basics, it was produced by Rob Cavallo – an old friend of the band, he previously worked with Green Day on commercial breakout ‘Dookie’ and their political statement ‘American Idiot’.

Out on January 19th, new album ‘Saviors’ finds the trio – Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool – doing what they do best. New single ‘The American Dream Is Killing Me’ is a brisk, tub-thumping piece of pop-edged punk, with a stadium-filling chorus and a neck-snapping riff.

“As soon we cut it, we said, Okay, that’s going first,’” says Billie Joe Armstrong, who describes the new song as “a look at the way the traditional American Dream doesn’t work for a lot of people – in fact, it’s hurting a lot of people.”

The video was directed by Brendan Walter and Ryan Baxley and shot in Los Angeles – pitched in black and white, it features Green Day in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.
