Green Arthur’s ‘Rest In Reverse’ Is An Uplifting Moment

The Newport-based musician opens up a new chapter...

Green Arthur is bouncing back with brand new single, ‘Rest In Reverse’.

Pushing for an indie-rock revival, the singer-songwriter pieces together a magnetic, quirky offering. Based in Newport, the artist illustrates a path of self-acceptance and overcoming, encouraging his listener to embrace their inner child. Across, the track leads with warm, rugged acoustics, adding flecks of distortion and whistles. Equally, the track shines a light on Arthur’s psychedelic vocal performance, warping his tones into a dream-like state.

Surrounded by the work of James Taylor, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Carly Simon, Green Arthur navigates a balance between the old and new, nostalgic and future-facing. Drawing his focus towards playfulness and experimentation, the riser sustains an open-minded approach to his craft, going from playing in bands across the early noughties to now carving his solo artistry.  Inviting bassist John Stirratt, drummer Soren Burkum and Wes Hutchinson on production duties, ‘Rest In Reverse’ marks a new chapter for the artist, returning to a more full and upbeat instrumentation.

Speaking on the track, Arthur expands:  “Humans seek out pleasure in a million different ways. The song is about that search. I like the idea of using art to reclaim a childlike state. We all start out playful but some of that is lost along the way.”

Tune in now.
