Details of the 52nd annual Grammy Awards were announced yesterday (March 12th).
With the award season drawing to a close, its time to look toward next year’s bout of glitz and glamour. This year’s Grammys represented a stunning success for British artists – who took home a haul of sixteen trophies.
Amongst the big winners on the night were Radiohead and Coldplay, while former Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant also won big for his collaboration with Alison Krauss.
Controversy at this year’s awards was supplied by Chris Brown. An alleged altercation with girlfriend Rihanna caused both to pull out, with rumours of domestic abuse.
Next year’s ceremony has been moved from February to the end of January, which shortens Grammy eligibility by one month. As usual, the event will held in Los Angeles.
“We are delighted to host the world’s premier music event in our hometown again, especially with the newly-opened Grammy Museum in our backyard,” Recording Academy President Neil Portnow said in a statement.
“As always, Grammy week will kick off with events that showcase various genres of music, educational programs and charitable initiatives.”
