Blur guitarist Graham Coxon shows no signs of slowing down with his new album ‘The Spinning Top’ set to be released on May 11th.
Blur reformed late last year, but the individual members seem determined to continue treading their own path. Damon Albarn has been working with Kano, while Dave Rowntree is a spokesman for the FAC.
Graham Coxon meanwhile has been working extensively, appearing on Pete Doherty’s solo album as well as writing his own material. Forthcoming LP ‘The Spinning Top’ is set to be a concept album, telling the story of a man from birth to death.
The new album is mainly acoustic and has been heavily informed by British folk guitar heroes. In a recent statement Coxon claimed artists such as Davey Graham and John Martyn were massive influences on his new material.
