Goya Gumbani and Joe Armon-Jones combine on new single ‘Manuva(s)’.

The American artist is now immersed in the creative communities of South East London, allowing those influences to permeate his work. Goya Gumbani’s thoughtful lyricism is rooted in hip-hop’s boom-bap lineage, but with an embrace of the unknown.

New album ‘Warlord Of The Weejuns’ is out on March 21st, and there’s an array of guests on here.

Take new single ‘Manuva(s)’. Ezra Collective keys player Joe Armon-Jones aligns with the lyricist, allowing Goya to move with a jazz-adjacent elasticity.

There’s a bubbling melodic sense to his approach, a playful verbosity that makes ‘Manuva(s)’ enthralling.
