Desert mystic Gonjasufi is set to celebrate his new remix album with a special competition.
Working in the deserts of California, Gonjasufi’s music is draped in mysticism. The rapper crafts hip hop, but simply unlike anyone else on the planet. Signed to Warp, the esteemed imprint managed to coax the MC into the studio with producer The Gaslamp Killer.
A hugely respected and forward thinking talent, The Gaslamp Killer added some otherworldly beats. Guest stars on Gonjasufi’s debut album included Flying Lotus, with the result being a dense, staggering piece of music.
Released to widespread acclaim, ‘A Sufi And A Killer’ is set to be remixed. Amongst the crew of producers adding their own talents to the musical brew are Broadcast, Dam Mantle, Oneohtrix Point Never and more.
Set to be released through Warp, the new versions of the tracks are collected on ‘Caliph’s Tea Party’ and retain Gonjasufi’s unmistakable delivery but add something distinct. To celebrate the release, the rapper has launched a new competition.
Following his first ever UK show, Gonjasufi has made stems available from ‘Candylane’ and ‘Love Of Reign’. Fans are already hard at work, with the contest open to anyone with enough software to take part.
The winner will be decided by Gonjasufi himself, and will receive a special custom-made signed artwork screenprint.

Visitors to the site can vote for their favourite, with an ongoing chart reflecting popularity. The final Top Ten on November 1st will be collected for Gonjasufi, who will then decide the winner.
Gonjasufi is set to release ‘The Caliph’s Tea Party’ on October 4th.
