Gomez New Album Plans

Blues bandits return

Mercury Award winning British blues types Gomex are set to return with new album ‘A New Tide’.

Formed in the mid 90s, Gomez’ debut album ‘Bring It On’ was a spectacular success. Recorded in their garage, the record went on to scoop a Mercury award and become a landmark for the band.

The band revisited that album last year with a full re-issue and a number of special shows playing ‘Bring It On’ in its entirety. New album ‘A New Tide’ was recorded in a much different fashion than their debut.

With the band members now scattered across continents, the musicians recorded their parts separately then merged them online – tricky business!

‘A New Tide’ features guests musicians such as Stars’ Amy Milan and Stuart Bogie of the Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra. Containing a wide variety of style it may well be Gomez’ most ambitious effort to date.

Gomez release their new album ‘A New Tide’ on April 6th.
