London synth-pop trio Golden Silvers are set to release their new single ‘Please Venus’ on August 31st.
Lots of band sit around complaining about the increasingly bereft of ideas indie scene. Yet few do as much to change things as Golden Silvers. The London group founded their own club night, and through playing an eccentric selection of rock, pop and soul began to meet some like-minded individuals.
Attracting a cult following, the band’s outlandish performances blend together a myriad of influences. While they might resent the comparison, a hefty dose of 80s synth pop runs through their veins – which is not bad thing.
After an early release via Young And Lost the band were snapped up by XL Recordings. Releasing the single ‘True Romance’ earlier this year, Golden Silvers suddenly found themselves becoming one of the most talked about bands in the country.
