Glüme has shared her new song ‘Flicker Flicker’.
The electronic savant has lined with Italians Do It Better on her new album, which is set to be released on February 17th. Sean Ono Lennon and Rufus Wainwright contribute to the LP, but the boldest, most colourful voice is Glüme‘s own.
New single ‘Flicker Flicker’ exemplifies this. Super-chic electronic pop with an icy, retro-futurist bent, it boasts production from Johnny Jewel.
Luxurious in sound, ‘Flicker Flicker’ also has an intoxicating sense of darkness, with Glüme commenting:
“‘Flicker Flicker’ is about dating that dj/photographer you knew was a bad idea.”
Manny Liotta directs the video, which plays with different aspects of Glüme‘s personality. She comments:
“We filmed the video at Club Rhonda in LA with my shadow self dressed in Zana Bayne and Evette Niche. It was fun to run through an active party with a different sound playing in my ears and just be in my own world. I was taken to a techno show there at Catch 21 by my ex, which the song is about. It has now been cleansed with a new experience.
Glüme will play two shows in London on Valentine’s – Servant Jazz Quarters, and a late show at the Standard, both on February 14th.
Tune in now.
