Glasvegas fans can breathe a sigh of relief after singer James Allen was found alive and well in New York.
Glasvegas attended the Mercury Music Prize last night, but unlike the other eleven acts on the nominations list they couldn’t perform. Speaking to the press afterwards guitarist Rab Allen revealed that they simply had no idea where their singer was.
In an interview with Scottish tabloid the Daily Record the guitarist revealed that no one Glasvegas had seen singer James Allen since a secret show in Glasgow. Performing in a vintage clothes shop, the group then took a break to prepare for a United States tour with Kings Of Leon.
However it seems that the lines of communication were stretched until breaking point. Rab Allen as the singer to get in touch, claiming that his family were now concerned for his safety after being missing for almost a week.
In a new interview with broadsheet The Independent the band’s manager Dean Cunning confirmed that James Allen is safe and well.
“He got in touch with me yesterday at about 1.45pm to tell me he was OK because he knew people were worried, but to be honest I’ve been just as much in the dark about this as anybody – the last time I saw James was at the gig in Cardiff.”
“I don’t even know exactly when he went missing.”
Glasvegas are set to fly out to the United States today (September 8th) to being their tour with Kings Of Leon.
