Girls Aloud will release ‘I’ll Stand By You – Sarah’s Version’ on November 15th in support of BBC Children In Need.
The legendary girl group released the song back in 2004, as the official BBC Children In Need single. A huge success, it raced to the pinnacle of the charts, staying at No. 1 for two weeks.
Girls Aloud reformed for an epic arena tour, and during this process the group filtered through the archives, seeking out something special for fans.
A version of ‘I’ll Stand By You’ sung in its entirety by their beloved Sarah Harding was uncovered, and became an emotional centre-piece of their live shows.
Now the track is being given an official release. Airing on Zoe Ball’s Radio 2 show this morning, it will then be released on November 15th as a special charity single to support BBC Children In Need.

CLASH writer Gareth James caught Girls Aloud at an intimate O2 Shepherds Bush Empire show earlier this year, writing:
After Brighton Pride, who knows what the future holds for them? The Pyramid Stage as Sunday night headliners feels about right, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Even without new music, there’s still a huge appetite for such an incredible catalogue. As this one-off show proved, only underlining what had been achieved across the arena tour, these performances offer unity, affirmation and uncomplicated joy at a time when we all need a little more of that.
