Night Slugs mainstay Girl Unit is set to release his new EP ‘Club Rez’ on May 7th.
Night Slugs have opened 2012 with a bang. Always at the forefront, the imprint recently launched plans for the ‘peak time’ series Club Constructions while reclusive producer Jam City has confirmed details of his debut full length ‘Classical Curves’.
Now it’s Girl Unit’s turn. The London based beatsmith produced arguably the label’s calling card in the shape of ‘Wut’ – a cut which proved to be unstoppable on its release in 2010.
Since then, the producer has laid low completing a number of remixes but little in the way of new material. Now Girl Unit is to break cover, with his new EP ‘Club Rez’ set to be released on Night Slugs this May.
Due out on May 7th, Juno Plus note that Night Slugs are promising “six brand new transcendental club tracks” of the producer’s “most advanced material yet”. Which sounds pretty exciting, frankly.
Tracklisting:
1. Ensemble
2. Cake Boss
3. Plaza
4. Double Take
5. Rezday
6. Club Rez
As usual with Night Slugs, the artwork is fantastic. For ‘Club Rez’ the label employed 3D artist Sina Taherkhani, Night Slugs boss Alex Sushon (Bok Bok) and Girl Unit himself.
‘Club Rez’ is due to be released on May 7th.
