Mexican artist Girl Ultra has announced her new EP ‘blush’, out July 12th via Big Dada, the Ninja Tune imprint which relaunched in 2021 with an ethos centred around minority artists.
Prelude single ‘Rimel‘ was released last month. With the EP announce, Girl Ultra shares the second track, ‘blu’, “a poignant reflection on the complexities of youth and existential angst…integrating aggressive percussion, haunting melodies, and emotive vocals, the track serves as a powerful meditation on the tumultuous journey of self-discovery.”
‘blush’, produced and co-created with close friends Sam Katz and Kiddie, pays homage to the eclectic sounds of the early 2000s, melding together elements of club, rock, and garage music.
