Girl Ray have confirmed details of debut album 'Earl Gray'.
The band caught attention with a pair of wonderful singles on Moshi Moshi, DIY pop nuggets shot through with a wry sense of wit.
Debut album 'Earl Gray' will be released on August 4th, the result of an intense two week period in Ramsgate's Big Jelly studios.
New cut 'Preacher' is online now, and it opens with a deft, sweetly frail series of guitar chords before exploding into a joy-pop yelp.
Poppy Hankin: “I wrote the melody for the first part a few years ago on a little toy Elvis guitar that I bought in a charity shop. Its tuning was really weird, and this song was the only thing I could really get out of it. The melody suited a love song, so I went with it.”
Tune in now.
