Dublin group Girl Band have shared their new single 'Shoulderblades' – tune in now.
The band caused an almighty ruckus with a series of phenomenal live shows and superb singles, before inking a deal with Rough Trade.
Debut album 'Holding Hands With Jamie' followed in 2015, an exceptional record, one packed with ruthless originality and startling, vivid new ideas.
Moving back into the shadows, Girl Band recently confirmed their intention to release new material, and play a small number of live shows.
New single 'Shoulderblades' is part of this return, and it's a bold, inspired record, one that leans on post-punk's more metallic wing – think PiL's 'Metal Box' – while adding in shards of industrial noise.
Dara Kiely's superb voice screams with life as guitar skyscrapers collapse down on him, the song making use of every single second of its six minute span.
It's difficult but never obtuse, a band who truly want to embrace their own individuality, with all the barbed necessities that this entails.
Tune in now.
