The classic Rolling Stones concert film ‘Gimme Shelter’ is to be released on DVD with fully restored audio and video and a host of extras.
The film follows the Stones on their American tour of 1969, including their Madison Square Gardnes concert (which made up the ‘Get Yer Ya Yas Out’ album), a recording session at the legendary Muscles Shoals recording studio in Alabama and the infamous Altamont concert which saw the death of a fan at the hands of Hells Angels.
The DVD reissue boasts restored audio and video, a 40 page booklet and an audio commentary by the film makers, the Maysles Brothers, and backstage footage of the Madison Square Gardens concert.
The DVD is out on August 11th through Warner Home Video.
